Justin Shultz Completes Junior Fire Fighter Camp

JUNE 26 - This past week Justin attended Chester County's Junior Fire Fighter Camp held at the West Chester fire training center by Chester County Emergency Service. Justin and many other junior members of other companies attended this 40 hour class which came to an end at graduation on Friday June, 26th. Annual SCBA Certification and Obstacle Course

JUNE 22 - For Monday night training members participated in their annual SCBA Certification. Members are required to don an air pack within 1 minute and show competence in its use while under stress. Medical personnel took a set of baseline vitals on each member before donning their SCBA. After each member was timed putting on the SCBA they were sent through an obstacle course. Four more incidents keep Fathers Day busy for 28 members

JUNE 21 - A ladder run assisting Pomeroy Fire Company at 3:26 pm, a helicopter landing at 7:05 pm, an auto accident with injuries at 7:30 pm and a medical assist on a 2nd due ambulance call at 7:51 pm rounded out the day for Parkesburg Fire Company members.

Yet another MVC...

JUNE 21 - Today Rescue 28 was dispatched to the area of Commons Dr and Route 10 for an Accident with Fluids down. Rescue 28 made the response within minutes with 6 Volunteers. Upon arrival Chief 28 directed crews to complete hazard control and clean up. Rescue 28 layed down stay dry and began clearing the roadway. AFA in the Boro

JUNE 20 - Station 28 along with Station 26(Atglen) were disptached to the 300 block of Strasburg Ave in the Boro for an Automatic Fire Alarm. Upon arrival crews had audible alarms with nothing showing. Crews made entry through the second floor window to investigate the alarm. The alarm was found to be tripped by a faulty alarm head. JUNE 20 - Station 28 was dispatched to the area of Route 10 and Main St in the Boro for an accident with injuries. Ambulance 28 and Rescue 28 responded within minutes and arrived to find a two vehicle head on crash blocking the roadway. Crews began assisting with patient care and packaging and hazard controls. Tower 28 Responds on an Entrapment

JUNE 19 - Tower ladder 28 was dispatched at approximately 1730 hrs to assist Lancaster County Station 4-2 (Gap Fire Company) for an accident with entrapment on Rt. 41 in Gap. 5 members of Parkesburg Fire Company arrived and were put right to work on a small vehicle with 1 heavily trapped. 28's assignment was cutting the vehicle's roof with saw-zalls while 4-2 crews were removing doors with hydraulic rescue ... Rescue 28 Due On MVC with Entrapment

JUNE 18 - Parkesburg Volunteers were dispatched to assist Station 31(Sadsburyville) on an MVC with Entrapment. Rescue 28 made the response within minutes to assist. Upon arrival crews began the door pop and assisted EMS with packaging and removal. Both patients were packaged and removed within 20 minutes and transported to local facilities.
