Members Take Additional Training To Better Protect Their Community
By Parkesburg Fire Company
January 30, 2010
This weekend Parkesburg Volunteers hosted Truck Company Operations by Traditions Training. The class is focused on the "Truck Company" aspect of daily fire ground operations. The class was also attended by members of Honey Brook Fire and Modena Fire. The class focuses on "real world" operations of a truck company. Many skills were reinforced along with some new skills gained.
The weekend started with all members attending four hours of classroom instruction. This area reviewed the topics that would be covered over the next 12 hours of practical evolutions. After a brief lunch break crews split up and went outside to begin the practical sessions. There were many valuable topics covered throughout the next two days. Search and Rescue, Tagline Searches, Vent Enter and Search, Forcible Entry, and Portable ladders were just some of the topics covered for the weekend. All the crews involved with the weekend came away with many new ideas and several skills reinforced by this great training session.
We would like to take the time to thank Doug, Dan, and Nick from Traditions Training for coming down for another amazing class.
Also a thanks to our members and the members of 33 and 37 for taking a weekend to train!
